With this decision, ryd is clearly focusing on scaling up in the European fleet market – and positioning itself as a digital alternative to the traditional card model.
The end of the plastic card begins in the vehicle cockpit
The platform enables fully digital payment for fueling, charging and washing – directly in the vehicle cockpit or alternatively via the ryd app with more than one million registered users in Europe.

Building on a platform that has been tried and tested millions of times, ryd is now consistently transferring its technology to the fleet business – with clear added value for fleet managers and companies: full transparency at vehicle level, automated billing, digital cost control and the complete elimination of physical cards.
Scaling a new European standard
Florian Böhme spent more than 17 years in leadership positions at Amazon and brings extensive experience in building and scaling digital B2B platforms. Most recently, as General Manager at Amazon Web Services (AWS), he was responsible for the global business with SAP and successfully shaped the cloud transformation of shared customers such as Mercedes-Benz. Previously, as Country Manager Amazon Business for the DACH/CEE region, he built up the business, digitized indirect spend, and established a new European standard in eProcurement. For many years, he was strongly committed to equal opportunities and allyship as executive sponsor of Woman@Amazon in Germany, promoting women in digital professions through networking and visibility—values that he now lives by at ryd.
Shared vision: The payment operating system for fleet vehicles
With this change in leadership, ryd is underlining its commitment to structurally advancing the digitalization of mobility payments – and establishing the next generation of digital fleet solutions in Europe.
